Book Nook is Australia’s oldest performing arts specialist bookshop, stocking: play scripts, drama theory and teachers’ resources, poetry, speech, dance, media and arts texts / biographies.
Book Nook’s primary customers are drama teachers and speech & drama teachers (from public and private schools and private studios), as well as actors and students (especially seeking monologues for audition pieces), etc.
After 25 years in Brisbane the business relocated from Brisbane to Toowoomba, and in 2018 moved to Melbourne. In 2021 the owners Mary and Jo Sutherland retired and sold the company to Stage Whispers Performing Arts Magazine.
The magazine is co-owned by theatrical agent and journalist David Spicer and former school drama teacher Neil Litchfield.
