SYNOPSIS
At a bus terminal in a country town in the middle of the night, three men are thrown together by circumstance. Over one evening of drinking, teasing and fighting, they search for a common ground.

Set in a harsh landscape dominated by prejudice, isolation and cultural stereotypes, David Brown sets three characters adrift to find some sense of themselves and each other.

PRODUCTION HISTORY
First performed by the Queensland Theatre Company at
the Cremorne Theatre in August 2004. Eating Ice Cream with Your Eyes Closed was shortlisted for the 2003 Patrick White Playwrights Award and the 2004 Premiers Literary Awards.

PLAYWRIGHT
David Brown has been commissioned to write for the Brisbane Festival (1998), the FreeWheels Theatre Company (2000) and the Queensland Arts Council (2003) and won the Queensland Premiers Drama Award for his play The estimator.
